Clay Mask

A clay mask is an excellent option to take care of the health of our face because it can moisturize, soften, exfoliate and nourish the skin. Yes, all that. Remember that minerals have great potential that can be exploited in various ways.

Since our face is exposed to the action of the environment and various factors such as dust, sun, and environmental pollution, it is normal for the skin to lose part of its health.

These factors generate damages that, although they are not always very evident, they are present. For this reason, the skin can suffer irritations, allergies, and premature aging.

However, many of these damages can be prevented and reduced through specific care, such as a good clay mask. Clay is known to be considered a nutrient-laden substance so that it can act in an extremely favorable way on the skin.

Moreover, it is perfect for cell regeneration and thus the elimination of toxins. It is, therefore, able to revive the color, improve the texture and shine of the skin. It is said that clay serves to "remove heat from the tissues.”

The benefits of clay masks are varied and will depend on the type we choose. Thus, red clay will be more abundant in iron than others, for example. In other words, its properties will vary according to its composition. However, all of them are very beneficial for the skin.

1. Acne Mask (All Skin Types)

We need a glass or clay bowl plus half a cup of water and clay. With this, we make a homogeneous, soft mass. We wash our face with plenty of water and neutral soap or facial cleanser to remove any dirt or impurities before applying the mask.

Once we have a dry face, we will apply the clay with the help of our fingertips (or a brush) all over the face except for the eyelids and mouth area. Let it work for a period of 15 to 20 minutes. After this time, remove the clay with cotton wool (or sponge) and lukewarm water.

2. Green clay mask (for oily and blemished skin)

With lemon and clay, we can also make a mask much more accessible and with the same results. However, with treatment, we must avoid having direct contact with the sun's rays.

Mix one hundred grams of clay, preferably green, with 10 milliliters of lemon juice and when we have a soft cream, we apply it on the face. Let it work for 15 to 30 minutes and then remove it with lukewarm water.

3. Exfoliating mask (for all skin types)

We will need rose essence water, olive oil, sugar, clay. Mix our ingredients in a clay or glass container until you get a homogeneous mixture. Then we apply on the face with circular movements. Remove with cold water so that it can close the pores once the treatment is finished.

Red clay mask

4. Red clay mask (for skin with a dry tendency)

We will need a cucumber, honey and half a cup of red clay. Place the sliced cucumber in a bowl with little water for 20 minutes. To this water, we will add a spoonful of honey and a spoonful of yogurt. Mix everything with a wooden palette to get a cream, and then apply it to the face. Let it work for 30 minutes and remove it with cold water.

5. White clay mask (for all skin types)

Here, we only need white clay, a few drops of coconut oil and rose water. Mix in a bowl obtaining a paste of creamy consistency. Apply it on the face and let it act for 30 to 40 minutes and then remove it with cold water.

6. Yellow clay mask (for all skin types)

A few drops of almond oil, yellow clay, two sachets for chamomile infusion. So first, prepare the infusion, then let it cool a little and mix with the rest of the ingredients. Once we apply it, let it act for 20 minutes.

We must emphasize that we should never prepare this mask with metal utensils since its use eliminates or alters the properties of the clay. It is recommended to carry out these treatments twice a week.

As a precaution, in case of exfoliation, do not expose yourself to the sun immediately.
